Three Central Texas students and a man are injured after a two vehicle crash.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the accident happened Friday at 11:35 a.m. Friday at the intersection of FM 1113 and FM 580 in Topsey.

A 1993 Toyota pickup was westbound on FM 1113 at the intersection.

A 2012 Chevrolet pickup was northbound on FM 580.

DPS said the Toyota pulled into the intersection and the vehicles collided.

The Toyota was driven by a 16-year-old boy from Copperas Cove.

He was taken by ambulance to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center with what authorities described as incapacitating injuries.

The passengers were a 15-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, also both from Copperas Cove.

The boy, who was riding in the bed of the pickup and was thrown from the vehicle, was flown to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple with incapacitating injuries, authorities said.

The girl was taken by ambulance to Scott & White Medical Center, also with incapacitating injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet was Rickey Jones, 58, of Marble Falls.

Jones was transported in a private vehicle to an unknown hospital with possible injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.

The Copperas Cove ISD posted on Facebook about the accident Friday night ahead of the high school's football game.

"CCISD Family—Please keep three of our students who were involved in a car accident earlier today in your prayers," the post said.

"The Pride of Cove Band will be absent from tonight’s football game as these students are all band members. These students and their families remain in our thoughts and prayers."
