The Vampire Diaries has amassed many characters in its six seasons with a seventh season fast approaching with many more characters to come.

Whose Romantic Relationship Will Come 'In Stages' On New Episodes Of 'The Vampire Diaries'?

A fan favorite character, though, who appeared between the first and fifth seasons actually came to be thanks to the loving fans rooting for her to appear more frequently.

Any guesses to who that may be? Well, it's Stefan Salvatore's (Paul Wesley) dear vampire friend Lexi Branson that Arielle Kebbel portrayed.

Will Enzo Serenade Anyone With His Guitar Playing Skills During New 'Vampire Diaries' Season?

Kebbel told TVLine that she "totally fell in love with Lexi" when she began shooting scenes as her.

Kebbel appeared in eight episodes total with the bulk of her appearances being in Season 4.

Lexi was in season 1's 162 Candles, which was her first appearance; season 2's The Dinner Party; season 3's Ghost World; season 4's We'll Always Have Bourbon Street, Because the Night, The Walking Dead and Graduation; and last appearing in season 5's Home.

Initially Kebbel wasn't sure how viewers of the hit CW supernatural drama would respond to her character. The reaction was amazing though since the writers for the series "started writing me in because nobody wanted to see Lexi go," Kebbel shared.

"That, to me, is one of those moments where, without the fans and the writers being willing and [executive producer] Julie [Plec] having a big-picture idea of how [Lexi] fits in, it never would've happened that way," Kebbel added.

Plus, viewers still get to see Kebbel when she does The Vampire Diaries Rehash for each episode, which appear on The CW Television Network's YouTube channel.

The series returns to The CW in the fall for season 7 on Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. ET.
