5 Reasons To Take The Kids To Disney On Ice

Although it hasn’t even started, it’s safe to say that Christmas is very nearly over, and if you have little ones then you’re no doubt already panicking about how you can keep them entertained in that awkward week inbetween Christmas and New Year.

Well, the good news is that if you’re in London then we’ve already tried and tested Disney On Ice: Worlds Of Enchantment at the O2 arena, and can confirm that it’s pretty brilliant.

But if that’s not enough to convince you then here are five reasons why you should consider taking the kids to the show:

1. It’s So Magical

Everything about the show is breathtaking from the costumes to the scenery to the stories and, of course, the skating, and all of that combined makes it all the easier to switch off and be transported into the Disney world.

A special shout out must go to The Little Mermaid’s ‘Under The Sea’ segment, with the costumes being second to none, and the Frozen section that sees ‘real’ snow fall from the arena’s skies.

2. The Stories

If you’re an old school Disney lover then the good news is that Disney On Ice doesn’t just focus on their new films for this generation.

Although Cars and Frozen are the featured films of the second half of the show, Toy Story and The Little Mermaid kick the whole thing off and you won’t be surprised to realise that even though your little ones have emblazoned ‘Let It Go’ on your brain, you can still remember all of the words to the ones from your childhood too.

Oh, and the whole thing is hosted by Minnie and Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy too - so what’s not to love?

3. The Singing

The songs really inject energy into all of the performances, and love it or loathe it, there is nothing quite as charming as an arena full of children excitedly belting out the Frozen soundtrack with complete and utter glee.

4. It’s Basically Like Strictly

So your kids probably won’t appreciate the skaters’ technique and sheer talent, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t, with each and every member of the cast having the skill to make you believe you are watching a legitimate combination of Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing On Ice…

…Even if we never have seen Ola Jordan don a pig’s costume on the Beeb.

5. The Celebs Love It

Rio Ferdinand, Emma Bunton and Denise Von Outen were among the famous faces to get papped with the stars of the show, and we even spotted Rochelle and Marvin Humes having the time of their life with their little girl in the audience.

And if it’s good enough for them then it’s certainly good enough for us.

‘Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment’ is appearing in London until the 3rd of January 2016.
