Man dead after striking three horses near Ypsilanti

A man is dead after striking three horses standing in the roadway west of Ypsilanti early Saturday morning.

Stutsman County Deputy Casey Yunck reported that the man was traveling west on County Road 38 at around 4:59 a.m. when he came across the horses, striking three and fatally injuring them. This caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and crash into a semi trailer parked in a private lot just off the roadway.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation and no names are being released at this time.
