The seven quarterback sacks and 1.1 yards per rush were good signifiers, but overall, Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles considered his team’s performance worthy of an above average grade.

The OSU defense was on the field a lot as well, thanks to the Cowboys’ two blocked punts that cut down on offensive snaps.

“Boise ran 87 plays and we got 65 plays,” Knowles said. Our offense lost two possessions, and the defense had to get right back out there and step up against an offense that has been really good.

“We all know that was our first true test and I think we at least got a ‘B.’”
