Rumors persist that Bruce Springsteen is set to announce a three-month tour with the E Street Band that will begin in January of 2016.

The story was reported on the Song Mango website.

The upcoming tour announcement is part of a flurry of activity out of the Springsteen camp as last week it was revealed Springsteen and band would serve as musical guests on the Dec. 19 episode of "Saturday Night Live." It is Springsteen's first appearance on the television show since 2002.

Over the weekend, Springsteen performed at the "Shining A Light Concert," singing "American Skin (41 Shots)" with John Legend.

The performances coincide with the release of "The Ties That Bind: The River Collection," a four CD, three DVD set that includes rarities and never-released singles, remastered versions of the original, four hours of previously unreleased video footage of Springsteen and the band.
