BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sept 21 (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): In the second quarter (Q2) of 2020, retail sales performance in Brunei Darussalam continued to show an increase of 1.6 per cent year-on-year, after increasing by 5.8 per cent (revised from 4.3 per cent) in the first quarter (Q1) of 2020. The value of retail sales in Q2 2020 was estimated at BND423.7 million.
This was driven by the increase in domestic demand for certain goods following several measures implemented due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country, such as online learning and teaching due to the closure of schools and educational institutions, work-from-home (WHF) arrangements and travel restrictions abroad.
