A 55-year-old Missoula man was killed just after midnight Sunday in a rollover crash near Belgrade.

The one-vehicle crash happened at mile marker 293 on I-90, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

The man who was killed was driving a Toyota 4Runner westbound on I-90 when he crossed a slick bridge deck. The vehicle lost traction, swerving left to right as it traveled off the left side of the road. The driver overcorrected to the right, sending the vehicle into a broadside skid as it entered the median. The left side tires stuck in the dirt, causing the vehicle to trip and roll multiple times.

Both occupants were unrestrained and ejected. The Missoula man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his passenger, a 46-year-old Butte woman was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol, drugs or speed were factors in the crash. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
