Police search for Bronx mother who fled with 1-year-old son to avoid welfare officers trying to remove child from home

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

Cops are searching for a missing 1-year-old Bronx boy after his mother disappeared with him, officials said Thursday.

Jasmin Cintron, who turns 2 on Monday, was last seen Oct. 4 with his mother, Suntaya Cintron, 23, at her Lambert Houses home in West Farms, police said.

When a child welfare worker went to the home to serve a warrant to remove the child on Wednesday, Jasmin and Cintron were nowhere to be found.

City child-protection agency officials reported little Jasmin missing, according to police.

“The Administration for Children’s Services is aware of this concerning incident,” an ACS spokeswoman said.

“We are deeply committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our city’s children and understand the NYPD is investigating this matter.”
