WHAT: 2014 Fields Medal Symposium Public Opening
Each year, the Fields Medal Symposium celebrates the work of one of the recent Fields Medallists. The goals of the Symposium are to bring together brilliant researchers to help take the area to new frontiers, to raise public awareness of Mathematics and the Fields Medal, and to inspire the next generation.
The Fields Medal is the highest honour in mathematics, and is awarded every four years by the
International Mathematical Union. The 2014 Symposium honours 2010 Fields Medallist Cedric Villiani.
