Arturo Vidal trains with new Barcelona team-mates including Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez for first time
Former Bayern Munich star is hoping to impress Ernesto Valverde before the La Liga season starts later this month
BARCELONA new boy Arturo Vidal trained with his new team-mates for the first time on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old worked up a sweat alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez after he signed from Bayern Munich earlier this week.
Vidal was expected to have an awkward reunion with Messi after he previously made comments about the striker's ability.
But the Chile international smiled as he jogged behind the 31-year-old at the complex in Sant Joan Despi.
Fellow new boy Malcom, who kicked off his Barcelona career with a goal against Roma last week, was training with the squad.
Ernesto Valverde's men will be looking to bounce back this weekend after they lost the International Champions Cup match 4-2.
Barcelona will face Sevilla in the final of the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday.
Vidal has revealed his to desire to win the Champions League with the Spanish giants this season.
He said: "I don't know if I have unfinished business with Madrid, but I do with the Champions League, which is my goal.
"I hope to achieve this goal here with Barcelona.
"We'll see what happens when we get to play against Madrid."
After winning six trophies in Germany, Vidal joined Barcelona on a three-year deal earlier this week.
