It seems like it only just began, but Season 27 of “Dancing With the Stars” is already preparing to take a final bow, and while this particular cast was packed with epic talent, only four couples remain and stand a chance at winning the coveted Mirrorball trophy.

While some teams who seemed like front-runners have all fallen at this point in the competition, there are still a few strong contenders left who could take the title on the ABC show. However, this season, perhaps more than any other, has shown that judge’s scores aren’t everything, and anyone could truly take home the Mirrorball as a result. No team is more poised to pull off a shocking win that Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess.

Bobby and Sharna, known as Team Beauty and the Geek, would seem like big underdogs going into this final round because their scores from the judges tend to be much lower than the ones their fellow finalists have earned. Still, the two may have a big shot at handing Sharna her first Mirrorball win ever as well.

Pros:

He Has A Dedicated Fan Base

Bobby knows the biggest reason he has made it this far in the competition is his devoted and loyal fanbase who have been voting for him week after week. He said so much himself during his dedication dance package for the semifinals, where he revealed he was dedicating the routine to those who have been sticking by him throughout the competition. Dedicating a dance to them was also a smart move, because it will make his fans even more appreciative going into the last round of competition, and if that inspires even more of them to vote, he’s going to be hard to beat.

Sharna Is Long Overdue For A Mirrorball Trophy

Naturally, at this point, the pro dancers have some wide fan bases as well, and Sharna is no exception. In addition, this is her 12th season as a pro-yet she has not taken home a single Mirrorball trophy. She’s come very close several times, hitting the finals with Noah Galloway, Nick Carter, James Hinchcliffe and Josh Norman, and making it to the semifinals with both Charlie White and Antonio Brown. Her fans are eager to clinch a win, and that could motivate them to send their votes to her and Bobby to make it a reality. The trend in recent seasons has been to give pros who haven’t yet won their first Mirrorball trophies, which could give her an edge.

Bobby Has Improved As A Dancer

Though he still isn’t performing at the same level as his fellow finalists, there is no arguing that Bobby has improved over the course of the competition. After mostly scoring 19s and 20s from the judges the first few weeks of the competition, he slowly started to do better and has since earned all 8’s from the judges twice, something he refers to as his version of all 10s. While he likely won’t earn real 10’s in his final routines, his improvement is admirable and could be rewarded with the win.

Cons:

He’s Not Up To Par Score Wise

Of course, while viewer votes likely have the larger impact on a team’s placement in the competition, the judge’s scores do have a role, and when it comes to the teams in the finals, Bobby is performing at a much lower capacity. The other teams have all earned at least one perfect score from the judges, and several other near-perfect scores, while he hasn’t managed to score higher than 24 points. Overall, his average scores are much lower as well. While Milo and Witney have an average of 27.5, Evanna and Keo have an average of 26.7 and Alexis and Alan have an average of 26.5, Bobby’s average only comes out to a 22.6. That’s not the kind of number that would traditionally win a season.

He Has Never Scored Higher Than An 8 So History Isn’t On His Side

Bobby’s highest score from any judge has been an 8, which isn’t a great sign when it comes to winning the Mirrorball. Statistically, past winners have always scored 9s and 10s, and several of them, by the time they reach the finals. If he were to secure a win, Bobby would be the first one to ever win the Mirrorball without those scores, which makes it seem a little less likely when it comes to his chances.

See if Bobby and Sharna can pull off an unexpected win by tuning in to the “Dancing With the Stars” Season 27 finale, airing Monday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
