Orangeburg man identified in 'suspicious death' after being found in driveway

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) - An Orangeburg man has been identified in an incident that authorities are calling "suspicious."

Quintrel Smith, 32, died of a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to Sean Fogle with the Orangeburg County Coroner's Office.

Deputies with the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office said just after 1 p.m. Friday Aug. 3, they received a call about a man's body being seen on the ground in a driveway near the junction of Joe Jeffords Highway and Pineland Street. Once deputies made it to the scene, they found the man's body lying next to an overturned moped.
