I have been a lifelong friend to Joanne.
She is a wonderful person, self-sacrificing her time and income to provide not only food and shelter to the cats, but also attending to their health needs.
Joanne cannot refuse any animal - they are often dumped at her gate.
These pets would otherwise roam the streets causing havoc to native wildlife.
Unfortunately she could not get insurance for the cat refuge.
I am starting a cash appeal for her so she can repair the refuge.
Cash donations can be made at Dora Creek Pharmacy, or send a cheque to: PO Box 449, Morisset, 2264.
Joanne urgently needs cat food, beds, kitty litter, blankets and towels. These can be dropped off at Morisset Vet Hospital.
Many people know Joanne and have used her services free of charge. I am now asking the community to dig deep and help her.
Joanne is deeply distressed, and the large clean-up and rebuilding task ahead is overwhelming.
I have started recruiting volunteers to help with this work.
Any help is appreciated.
