A popular pub has opened its doors again after a £100,000 refurbishment.

Kings Head in Old Watling Street, Atherstone, has been transformed following the recent £140,000 investment with national pub company, Punch.

Improvements have been made to the bar and dining area and there is also a new menu.

Its beer garden will now host new furniture and planters and a new signage and lighting scheme has also been introduced.

Shayne Morris, who has run the pub since September 2016, said: “The refurbishment has transformed the pub and made it exactly what we wanted – it looks amazing!

“We have received lots of positive comments from our customers and opening night was a huge success. Marc Bolton, a local singer joined is us to celebrate and our customers could try tasters from our new food menu.

“We have also introduced new weekly offers, such as steak night, fizz Friday and pie night. A new Sunday night darts knockout competition is also going to take place in January, where our customers can win the chance to play a past world champion!”

Stuart Burley, publican development and training manager for Punch, added: “The Kings Head looks great and Shayne, Marie and their team have worked really hard to create a balance for both their customers, drinkers and diners and the new layout of the pub will also help separate the two.

Cheers!

“I wish Shayne and Marie the best of luck for the future and look forward to continuing to support them.”

Craig Tracey, North Warwickshire MP, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the newly refurbished pub. It’s great to see changes that have been made first hand, which I’m sure the local community will thrive off.

“I wish Shayne, Marie and the team at the Kings Head the best of luck for the future.”
