Witches, ghosts, soldiers, cheerleaders and hobos: Any of these, and lots more, may be what one encounters at the annual “Monster Bash” Halloween Party at Fort Morgan Senior Center, which will happen Oct. 29.

The party will get started at 2 p.m., and the games, goodies and music will just keep coming for the costumed seniors 55 and older at the party, according to a city news release. The game winners and the best costume will receive prizes.

While the party does cost $3 per person or $5 for a couple, that admission fee will be waived with donation of a new item for a baby or child. Those donations will then go to the Morgan County Golden Stars and then will “benefit local residents now and through the holiday season,” according to the news release.

Last year, one of the games involved having a sticker put on each person’s back that listed a Halloween-related character, such as ghost, witch, vampire or zombie. The seniors then had to ask the other party-goers questions for hints so they could figure out what their characters were.

Another game involved tossing pingpong balls and trying to get them to bounce across a table and into a plastic pumpkin.

But they always change it up for the annual event, so the Senior Center is likely to have a whole new crop of games and activities lined up for the upcoming “Monster Bash.”

In order to get a count for goodies and games, the Senior Center did request that people preregister for the party by this Friday.

To preregister, visit the Senior Center at 110 Sherman St. or call 970-542-3922 or visit the Recreation Center at 528 State St. or call 970-542-3909.

The Senior Center is open from 8 to 10 a.m. and from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
