$1M Bail For NH Teen Charged With Stabbing MA State Trooper

An 18-year-old from Manchester is facing charges of armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

MANCHESTER, NH — The suspect who police say stabbed a Massachusetts State Trooper following a chase Friday afternoon has been identified as an 18-year-old from Manchester. Nghia Le remains hospitalized at UMass Medical Center in Worcester after he was shot following a chase that ended in New Salem, Mass.

Le is facing charges of armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He is being held on $1 million bail. His arraignment is expected to occur early this week, but a time and place have not been determined.

The 47-year-old trooper police said Le stabbed multiple times in the neck and shoulder area is hospitalized "in stable condition and good spirits," according to Massachusetts State Police.

Authorities said Le was in a crash in Walpole, N.H., and carjacked the car the he crashed into. He then drove to Vermont and led police on a chase down Route 91 in Massachusetts.
