Former Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George will be in Iowa next week as Broadway musical "Chicago" is set to play in Ames.

This will be George's first visit back in Iowa since he starred at running back at Ohio State. He told the Register over the phone that he remembers a few things from his college football career against Big Ten Conference foe — the Iowa Hawkeyes.

"I remember being undefeated against the Hawkeyes," George said with laughs. "(Kinnick Stadium) was always a tough place to play."

Former Ohio State running back Eddie George stars as Billy Flynn in the musical "Chicago."

He's right: The Buckeyes defeated Iowa in 1992 (38-15) and again 1995 (56-35). During his senior season in 1995 at Ohio State, George rushed for 1,927 yards and 24 touchdowns, winning the Heisman Trophy and was a consensus all-American.

He was drafted 14th overall by the Houston Oilers, now the Tennessee Titans. George played in the NFL for nine seasons with the Oilers, Titans and the Dallas Cowboys, tallying 10,441 career yards and 68 touchdowns. He won the NFL offensive rookie of the year award in 1996 and was a four-time Pro Bowler.
