FAIRBANKS — The Alaska Supreme Court announced Tuesday the selection of Justice Joel H. Bolger as the next Chief Justice.
Bolger’s term will last three years and begin July 1. He will replace outgoing Justice Craig Stowers, whose term ends June 30.

FAIRBANKS — The Alaska Supreme Court announced Tuesday the selection of Justice Joel H. Bolger as the next Chief Justice.
Bolger’s term will last three years and begin July 1. He will replace outgoing Justice Craig Stowers, whose term ends June 30.
Bolger was selected unanimously by his fellow high court members, according to a news release issued by the Alaska court system.
The Chief Justice presides over state Supreme Court arguments and conferences, serves as the chair of the Alaska Judicial Council and serves as the administrative head of the judicial branch.
Bolger was appointed to the Alaska Supreme Court in January 2013. He is from Iowa and came to Alaska as a VISTA attorney.
