Maud, New Boston win; PG stumbles

MAUD, Texas-Maud's varsity volleyball squad defeated Avery in four sets, 22-25, 26-24, 25-18, 25-18.

Brynn Sultz led the Lady Cardinals with 14 service points.

Makenna Jones added 14 kills, 11 digs and two blocks for the Cardinals, while Riley Murphy contributed 17 kills.

Annelise Flowers finished with a kill and four digs for Maud.

Jayce Clark led Avery with eight service points.

Avery's junior varsity squad swept Maud, 25-14, 25-14.

Juliana Burkett led Avery with 13 service points and Avery Culpepper paced Maud with six service points.

 

New Boston sweeps Paul Pewitt

OMAHA-NAPLES, Texas-New Boston swept Paul Pewitt Tuesday night, 25-10, 25-14, 25-8.

Morgan McAlexander led the Lady Lions with 12 service points and 13 kills.

Carleigh Reeves finished with seven kills for New Boston and Grace Duffer added 21 assists.

Haley McAlexander ended the match with 12 assists for the Lions and Carlee Ratcliff contributed 15 digs.

New Boston defeated Pewitt in the first junior varsity match, 25-14, 25-17.

Brittney Myers led the Lions with nine service points and Aubrey Newman led the Lady Brahmas with six service points.

Pewitt defeated New Boston in the second junior varsity match, 25-9, 25-16.

Jenna Henson and Jayden Smallwood, each scored four points for the Lions.

Molly Richey led the Brahmas with 17 service points.

 

Pleasant Grove falls in close one

SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas-Grace Pickelman served in 16 points and had 12 digs, but Pleasant Grove was edged by Sulphur Springs, 25-22, 21-25, 24-26, 25-18, 16-14.

Madi Morris put down 12 kills for the Lady Hawks, Macey Adams added 10 kills, and Sydney Hopkins had 13 digs.

Katie Ferguson made 20 assists and had 10 kills, while Macy Young had 14 assists for Pleasant Grove.

 

Clarksville wins in three

SIMMS, Texas-Clarksville only needed three sets to take down James Bowie.

Emily Latham and Sarah Bruce each scored 12 points for the Lady Tigers. Bruce also contributed eight digs and Khloe Walker finished with six kills.

 

Ore City tops Daingerfield

Daingerfield fell to Ore City in four sets in their varsity match, 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 30-28.

Adisen Key led the Tigers nine digs and two aces and Kayleigh Phillips added 16 digs.

AHS tops El Dorado

EL DORADO, Ark.-Arkansas High's varsity tennis squad defeated El Dorado Tuesday, 5-3.

Taylor McCoy defeated Evan Brooks in boys singles for the Razorbacks.

Patrick Cook and Shawn Coleman defeated Gary Gautheir and Carson Ricker in boys doubles for AHS.

Walker Dowd and Nate Nix defeated Ben Alderson and Luke Alderson in boys doubles for the Razorbacks.

Bryunna Brewer and Taylor Wilkerson defeated Josie Dumas and Kendal Bonsall in girls doubles for Arkansas High.

Charleigh Wren and Lauren Jones defeated Kaleigh Nale and Madilyn Bonsall in girls doubles for AHS.

The Razorbacks next match will be Tuesday at home, hosting Magnolia and Hot Springs.
