Your Wednesday morning health roundup:

Arsenic in rice: Consumer Reports is calling on the Food and Drug Administration to set standards for how much arsenic can be allowed in rice after finding the potential toxin in almost every rice product it tested. FDA is running its own tests and says it would be premature to set standards or to urge consumers to change their eating habits. Rice producers say there's no documented evidence of health harm from arsenic in rice grown in the United States. (Consumer Reports, FDA)

Weight loss pill: The new weight loss pill Qsymia is now available. Patients can get it only through certain online pharmacies and only from doctors who have gone through special training. (WebMD)

Formula warning: Twenty-two babies developed a serious intestinal illness and seven died after drinking formula thickened with a product called Simply Thick, the FDA says. Most of the illnesses occurred in premature babies, but caregivers should consider the potential risk before giving the product to any baby, FDA says.(CNN, FDA)

Today's talker: Being a Batman fan may be good for a guy's self-image, a study suggests. College men who said they identified with Batman or Spider-Man reported feeling more satisfied with their own bodies after seeing muscular pictures of their favorite superheroes. But guys who didn't have that bond felt worse -- much as many women do after seeing a picture of a svelte supermodel, researchers say.(NBC News)
