JUST SHAVE IT OFF, SHAVE IT OFF: Gov. Charlie Baker showed up for Granite Telecommunications’ annual “Saving by Shaving” fundraiser in Quincy. As the name of the event implies, people have their hair cut off to support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This is the third year in a row Baker has had his head buzzed at Granite. Also there: Red Sox President Sam Kennedy.

SAY IT AIN’T SO: Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are finally, legally calling it quits. Yesterday, Garner filed for divorce, with Affleck filing his response at the same time — all without a lawyer. They’re both seeking joint legal and physical custody of their three children, and they still have to negotiate a financial settlement. Although no date of separation was listed, they had publicly announced it in June 2015.

OPEN SEASON: Acton’s own Steve Carell will be joining Christian Bale and Amy Adams in the cast of an upcoming, unnamed biopic about Dick Cheney. Carell will play the former defense secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, while Bale will star as the ex-vice president and Adams will play his wife, Lynne Cheney. The film is to be directed by Adam McKay of “The Big Short,” produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Shooting — wink, wink — is slated to start in September.
