Nearly two weeks after Election Day, the midterms will finally end this week.

After two recounts and a host of voting issues that got national attention, Florida’s elections canvassing commission is scheduled to certify the midterm race results on Tuesday.

There could be lawsuits filed by some losing candidates, but once results are certified, they will be difficult to overturn.

Several groups are planning ‘Count Every Vote’ rallies outside supervisors of elections offices in big counties across the state on Tuesday. Locally in Tampa Bay, the rally is 10:30 a.m. at the Hillsborough County elections office on Kennedy Blvd.

Multiple sources report Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is scheduled to meet with President Donald Trump this week in Florida at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

Bondi is reportedly on Trump’s shortlist to replace Jeff Sessions as U.S. Attorney General.

State legislators are scheduled to meet in Tallahassee this week for an organization session starting on Tuesday.

Florida Senate president Joe Negron will also pass the gavel to the incoming Bill Galvano, and the same goes in the state house, where Speaker Richard Corcoran will handover to Jose Oliva.

Next year’s session of the Florida legislature is scheduled to start March 5th and end May 3rd.
