Police: South Boston man charged with abduction

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. (WSET) -- South Boston Police said a man has been arrested on multiple charges, including abduction.

They said the responded to a residence in the Poplar Creek Street area Tuesday for a possible domestic disturbance.

According to police, Kevin Omar Jerome Edumunds, 26, of South Boston, was arrested and charged for the following offenses:

• Abduction
• Assault & battery of a family or household member
• Proper damage (4 counts of vandalism)
• Trespassing

Police said Edmunds was taken to the Halifax Adult Detention Center where he is being held without bond.

He is awaiting a court appearance in Halifax County Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court.
