Another cash in transit robbery took place, this time in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.

Three guards were attacked at a complex and only the driver survived the attack. The SBV group has offered a million rand reward for any information that can help the police in their investigation.

Observers now point out the failure of police minister Bheki Cele’s highly visible and intelligence campaign, announced a month ago.

As many as 140 robberies of the nature have taken place since January 2018.
