BettencourtBettencourt Manor opens flagship in Toronto

Designers Matthew and Rick Bettencourt have opened Bettencourt Manor’s flagship store in Toronto’s Leslieville neighborhood.

Located at 1025 Queen St. East, the shop offers an assortment of their micro batch textiles and wallpapers juxtaposed against a collection of unique one-of-a-kind heirloom finds. Its inaugural assortment has been curated with a nod to the artist communes of coastal Europe.

Bettencourt Manor is open daily Wednesday through Sunday and by appointment Monday and Tuesday.

Levin Furniture enters Youngstown, Ohio, market

Furniture retailer Levin Furniture held grand opening events for its Boardman, Ohio, location earlier this month, as it opened the first of three planned stores in the Youngstown market.

Levin Furniture’s showroom in Boardman carries a variety of name brands such as Flexsteel, La-Z-Boy and Ashley as well as private collections like Amish Village, which is manufactured in Killbuck, Ohio; West Coast Style and Grand Legacy, both made in the United States.

Located in the former Goldsteins Furniture building, Levin Furniture in Boardman, Ohio will employ 26 associates, many who previously worked at Goldsteins.

Patina Vie opens flagship store in Wisconsin

Patina Vie, the brand from product designer and antiquarian Sarah Willett, opened a flagship store in Ripon, Wis., in mid-July. The 2,000-square-foot store is filled with Patina Vie’s signature tabletop, rugs, wallpaper, home décor and myriad vintage finds.

“It was a dream come true to finally see my heart’s-desire retail vision come to fruition,” said Willett. “I have been scouring shops across Europe and wanted to create a similar magical environment in my own backyard.”

Patina Vie is at 205 Watson St.

LevinMount Angel Mercantile opens in Oregon

Kelly Grassman, a stay-at-home mom who refurbished furniture and home décor as a side business, opened the Mount Angel Mercantile in Mount Angel, Ore. in late August.

According to the Woodburn Independent, the store, at 490 E. Church St., is housed in a 120-year-old former general store and more recently was the home of a gift and antiques shop.

Nest welcomes customers in Illinois town

Nest Home Décor opened its doors in Sheffield, Ill. in early August, according to the Bureau County Republican.

Owned by Mary Ann Cernovich, a longtime antiques retailer, the 108 S. Main St. store is a departure from her normal assortment, with modern home décor pieces including rugs, lamps, art, pillows, candles and glassware, as well as furniture ranging from midcentury to contemporary.

Outlet store in the plans for Wayfair

Online home furnishings powerhouse Wayfair is in the process of building an outlet, according to sister publication Furniture Today.

When open, the store will be Wayfair’s first brick-and-mortar location, a departure from the company’s 100% pure play e-commerce model.

The 20,000-square-foot Wayfair outlet will be located at 5101 Renegade Way in Florence, Ky., near Cincinnati. A spokesman for the Boston-based e-tailer said it will sell returns and closeouts in good condition.

Home décor store sets up in former barber shop

One of Richmond, Va.’s newest home décor retailers put down roots in what was a longtime barber shop at 22 E. Broad St.

Someday, a home goods and decoration shop, opened in early August in the former Harvey’s Progressive Barbershop according to reports from Richmond Business Sense.

Owner Audie McDougall says Someday will carry new and vintage goods, textiles, rugs, pillows, furniture and kitchenware and serving items.

Design firm moves into downtown Grand Rapids

Multi-site design firm Rodolfo Gonzales Interior Design has moved into a new downtown Grand Rapids, Mich., location, according to the Grand Rapids Business Journal.

Owned by Rodolfo Gonzales and Robert Gross, the new, 4,200-square-foot space is located at 40 Monroe Center St. NW and features a Baker Furniture showroom, design studio and future space for a high-end art gallery.

Rodolfo Gonzales Interior Design also has a presence in Raleigh, N.C., and Chicago.

Timothy Oulton flagship opens in London

Furniture and interiors company Timothy Oulton opened its flagship store in London on Sept. 1 in the historic Bluebird Garage on the King’s Road in Chelsea.

The 7,200-square-foot gallery will feature the largest retail display of Timothy Oulton collections in the world. It joins locations in New York, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Sydney, New Delhi, Moscow and two more London-based stores.

“It’s a special place and we want to bring something very special to Bluebird and to Chelsea,” Oulton said. “Inviting people into our home has always been at the core of our ethos, so we’re passionate that the gallery at Bluebird shows our home at its absolute best.”
