But technical issues mean customers have been unable to book their tickets

Tickets are due to go on sale this morning for the popular Santa's Grotto at the Trentham Estate.

The online ticket sales were due to open at 10am today to give children the chance to meet Father Christmas at his grotto within Trentham Shopping Village.

Last year's event saw all 1,025 tickets sell out in just nine hours.

Now Trentham Estate bosses are urging people to get online and book early for this year's celebrations.

A spokesman said: "Santa Claus is coming to town. You can visit Santa and Mrs Claus in their cosy grotto. Tickets do sell out quickly for this event so please book early to avoid disappointment."

But customers have reported problems trying to snap up their tickets this morning after the website and the booking form failed to load.

A 10.30am Trentham Estate Facebook post stated: "It is not live yet, please bear with us. Everyone is in the same boat. Thanks."
