Unattended cooking likely cause of Huber Heights house fire, lieutenant says

UPDATE @ 5:55 p.m.: Unattended cooking is believed to be the cause of the house fire in a duplex on Glen Oaks Court, said Lt. Andy Rammel, Huber Heights Fire Division.

The family of four and their pets will be displaced for a while, Lt. Rammel said.

The people living in the other side of the structure will be able to return to their residence tonight, he said.

Rammel said it was too early to estimate the dollar amount in damage.

UPDATE @ 5:25 p.m.:

A family of four, at home when fire started, escaped injury, Huber Heights fire officials said.

There are no injuries, but the family will be displaced because of the smoke and fire damage.

The cause of the fire right now is undetermined, fire officials said.

Crews are on the scene of a working structure fire in the 8300 block of Glen Oaks Court in Huber Heights.

The incident was dispatched just after 4:30 p.m.
