CAT Power will release her first album since 2012 on October 5 after signing to the Domino label.
Wanderer will be the Atlanta, Georgia singer, songwriter, musician, occasional actress and model's long-awaited follow-up to Sun. Written, recorded and produced by Cat Power – real name Charlyn Marie "Chan" Marshall – in Miami and Los Angeles over the past few years, the album features guest vocals courtesy of friend and tour-mate Lana Del Rey.
Wanderer’s 11 tracks encompass “my journey so far,” reveals 46-year-old Marshall. "The course my life has taken in this journey, going from town to town, with my guitar, telling my tale; with reverence to the people who did this generations before me. Folk singers, blues singers, and everything in between," she says. "They were all wanderers and I am lucky to be among them."
Cat Power will tour internationally in support of Wanderer but restricts herself to only one British date: London's Roundhouse on October 23. The album track listing will be: Wanderer; In Your Face; You Get; Woman (featuring Lana Del Rey); Horizon; Stay; Black; Robbin Hood; Nothing Really Matters; Me Voy and Wanderer/Exit.
