A high ranking state employee was arrested on 29 counts of child endangerment, all part of a bizarre role-playing case, sources say.

John B Allen Jr. was arraigned in Coeymans Town Court Wednesday morning.

According to court documents obtained by NEWS10 ABC, Allen is accused of luring four victims into his Coeymans home on various dates throughout the past year. Each time, he allegedly convinced the children, ages 12 & 13, to take off their pants and change into a diaper.

Sources with intimate knowledge of the case say that Allen had outfitted a room of his Westerlo Street home into an adult nursery complete with two hospital beds designed to look like a large crib.

The same sources say Allen is a high ranking employee within the New York State Office of Mental Health. Checking the office’s website, we found a John Allen who is listed as the Special Assistant to the Commissioner.

NEWS10 ABC called the department to confirm Allen’s employment and the arrest seemed to be a surprise to the department’s spokesperson.

Allen’s neighbors say they had heard rumors of “odd behavior” and are now very concerned for children in their neighborhood.

Allen is currently lodged in the Albany County Jail and is being held on $10,000 cash or secured bond.
