Pop-Up Magazine certainly isn’t your ordinary magazine.

Instead, it’s an immersive experience where multimedia stories are created live onstage.

The magazine, which originated in San Francisco, is taking its spring “issue” out on tour and returns to the City by the Bay for two shows (see details below).

Contributors set to appear at the shows include Jon Ronson (New York Times bestselling author), Tabitha Soren (photographer), Yassir Lester (actor, Girls, Making History), Carlos Javier Ortiz (visual artist), Gillian Laub (photographer), Fazeelat Aslam (director, producer), Karen Duffin (This American Life), Lu Olkowski (radio producer), Brittany Spanos (Rolling Stone), Sandra Allen (writer), Rachel Monroe (Texas Monthly) and more.

Also, there will be an original score performed onstage by Magik*Magik Orchestra.

Details: 7:30 p.m. May 31-June 1; Curran Theater, S.F.; $35-$55, www.popupmagazine.com.
