As I write, the perky yellowy-white blossom is springing into bloom on my plum tree. Each morning a few more inches of bare branch are covered in buds. It’s a pleasing sight in these uncertain times and is unusually thrilling. I find myself doing a tour of the lawn with a cup of tea noticing the daily change of order; the zingy green of the euphorbia suddenly catches one’s eye, the lilting daffodils are toppling, but then the tulips are coming.
Everyone’s day-to-day normal is changing, and we are no exception. No one can view properties for sale or rent in person, and no one can go on holiday, but it doesn’t stop people planning — and dreaming.
