Eden Valley-Watkins and Pipestone Area grabbed top seeding for the Section 3AA girls basketball tournament.
Eden Valley-Watkins is the top seed for the north, and Pipestone Area is the top seed for the south.
Action begins Thursday with one play-in game between north teams Paynesville Area and Montevideo. The quarterfinal rounds in both sub-sections begin on Saturday.
In the south bracket Saturday, Pipestone Area will host St. James Area at 7 p.m. All other quarterfinal games are also at 7 p.m. Windom Area (5) plays Martin County West (4) at Trimont, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (7_ is at Redwood Valley (2), and Jackson County Central (6) is at Luverne (3).
South semifinals are Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at locations to be announced. The south championship is 6 p.m. March 5 at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, with the north championship on the same day at 8 p.m. at SMSU. South and north champs meet at 5 p.m. March 8 at SMSU to decide the section title.
