TROY, AL (WSFA) - The suspect in a Monday night Troy homicide case has been taken into custody, according to CrimeStoppers. Alexis Shantell Boswell, 25, was wanted in connection to the death of Bernard Farrior, 65.

Farrior was found dead at a residence in the 100 block of Daisy Court around 11 a.m. Monday. A cause of death hasn't been released, but the police chief did say it's possible Farrior and Boswell knew each other.

Boswell was taken into custody late Tuesday night in Jackson, Alabama. That's about three hours west of Pike County in Clarke County.

After being alerted by Jackson police that the 25-year-old was in custody, Troy police officers were dispatched to get her. She is now being held withouth bond in the Pike County Jail on a capital murder charge.

The case remains under investigation by Troy PD.

The Pike County District Attorney's Office and Coroner's Office, as well as the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences are assisting Troy detectives.
