Police have identified the deceased woman found in an ocean cove north of Lincoln City as Satin Fever Star, also known as Kahrin Jean McDonald, 63, of Lincoln City.

Star’s body was recovered Sunday in the ocean just north of God’s Thumb, a prominent landmark and popular hiking destination that rises above the ocean.

She was last seen February 11.

The cause of death remains unclear during what police called an active investigation. Officials said “there is no known threat to the community and her death does not appear suspicious,” according to a news release.

A Coast Guard helicopter and rescue teams conduct a rescue operation at God's Thumb north of Lincoln City earlier this year.

Police did not return calls seeking details on the accident.

God’s Thumb has become a popular hiking destination in recent years, but has also been the site of a number of accidents. Four rescue operations have been required on the peak during the past year, often for people who slipped and fell down the peak’s steep cliffs.
