SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker will open its first boutique in the Midwest at the Mall of America this summer. The label, owned by Sarah Jessica Parker and George Malkemus, carries footwear, handbags, and apparel.
The 1,300 square-foot store will be located on level 1, West, replacing a Solstice sunglasses store. The boutique will include the “Carrie," a shoe named after Parker’s character on Sex and the City, an aficionado of expensive heels. SJP's shoes are handcrafted in Italy; apparel and accessories are made in the United States.
A hallmark of the collection is its use of strong colors, encouraging women to take fashion risks.
SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker has been growing since its inception in February 2014. Other locations are in New York City, Las Vegas, Maryland, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai.
This is not the first Mall of America store with a celebrity on the label. Good American, a fashion store owned by Khloe Kardashian and Emma Grede, opened this spring, and Rihanna’s lingerie label, Savage X Fenty, opened last year.
