Geoff Meall is now working for Coda in London after departing United Talent Agency at the end of 2017. The agent had been with UTA since 1992.

When Meall left UTA, it was speculated what his next station might be, and whether he was going to follow his colleague Natasha Bent, who switched from UTA to Coda a year earlier.

“Once I made the decision to make a move there was only really one choice,” Meall said. “Coda in my opinion are the most dynamic agency in the business. Their A&R signings and successes over the last few years have been unparalleled. They have the benefits of their partnerships with Paradigm, X-ray and ITG yet retain a maverick and independent culture. It’s also a fun place to work and that should always be the first priority! I’m excited to be part of the future of Coda.”

Meall’s roster at UTA included Muse, Paramore, Billy Talent, Foals, Super Furry Animals and Sum 41.

He told Pollstar that his Coda roster would be announced shortly.

The London-based agency represents Liam Gallagher, The xx, Imagine Dragons, Sia, Rag’N’Bone Man, Ellie Goulding, Take That, The Prodigy, Bon Iver, Chvrches, Shawn Mendes, Years & Years, Bastille, and Fever Ray among many other.

Coda recently won Agency of the Year at the Festival Awards 2017.

Alex Hardee, partner at Coda, commented: “Its fills us with great pride that someone of Geoff’s experience, influence, and standing in the music industry has joined Coda. He will bring a breadth of musical knowledge to Coda that will only compliment and strengthen the existing management team. It’s a shame he is a Scouser otherwise it would have been the perfect addition.”

In 2014, Paradigm bought a 50 percent stake in Coda. The London-based agency kept its name and brand identity in the partnership, with directors Rob Challice, Tom Schroeder, Alex Hardee, Dave Hallybone and James Whiting continuing at the helm.
