CATOOSA – One of the most iconic artists in country music, Willie Nelson is set to perform an Oklahoma show Feb. 17 at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa, 770 W Cherokee Street.

Tickets start at $69.50 and go on sale Friday.

Nelson has earned every conceivable award as a musician and amassed reputable credentials as an author, actor and activist. He continues to thrive as a relevant and progressive musical and cultural force. The iconic Texan is the creative genius behind the historic recordings of “Crazy,” “Red Headed Stranger” and “Stardust.”

In recent years, he has delivered 10 new album releases and a Top 10 New York Times Bestsellers book, headlined Farm Aid and an event he co-founded in 1985, and received his fifth degree black belt in Gong Kwon Yu Sul, according to a news release. He also headlined the last three years of the ongoing Luck Reunion food and music festival at his ranch in Luck, Texas, during SXSW, announced the launch of his cannabis company Willie’s Reserve, and graced the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.

In November 2015, the Library of Congress honored him with their Gershwin Prize for Popular Song for his contributions to popular music. The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song celebrates the work of an artist whose career reflects lifetime achievement in promoting song as a vehicle of musical expression and cultural understanding. He is the first country artist to receive the distinguished award.

This year, he released “Last Man Standing” to celebrate his 85th birthday. The album is comprised entirely of songs newly penned by Nelson and longtime collaborator and producer Buddy Cannon. He also released “My Way,” a collection of songs originally made famous by Nelson’s close friend, Frank Sinatra.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa is located off Interstate 44 at exit 240. Ticket prices and information on upcoming shows are available online in The Joint section of www.hardrockcasinotulsa.com or by calling 918-384-7625.
