In just two weeks, Lorton (Va.) South County 2018 wide receiver Dillon Spalding went from no contact with the Michigan coaching staff to holding a scholarship offer from the program. Spalding and his father unofficially visited Ann Arbor over the weekend, taking in the Wolverines' 29-13 victory over Air Force at Michigan Stadium

"Everything about Michigan was really impressive," Spalding told Wolverine247 after receiving a scholarship offer. "I'd never been there before and didn't really know what to expect going in, but it blew me away in every way possible. It was an awesome visit all the way around."

One of the highlights for Spalding was meeting U-M coach Jim Harbaugh, as it usually is for high school prospects. The biggest thing that stood out to Spalding regarding Harbaugh was his personality that differed from what he believed about him heading in.

"I'd only read about Coach Harbaugh online or seen him on TV, and the way he's portrayed by others is a complete 180 from the person we spent time with this weekend," he said. "He's a really down to earth guy who just loves the game of football. It was a lot of fun to speak to him and get to know both he and the Michigan coaching staff."

Going forward, U-M has emerged as a major contender for Spalding, with Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and Indiana among the others that have offered. He is currently ranked 60th in the country at the wide receiver position in the 2018 class according to 247Sports.

State's top young prospect visits two weeks in a row

Oak Park 2020 offensive lineman Justin Rogers has now visited U-M two weekends in a row, taking in games against Cincinnati and Air Force.

Rogers is the top prospect in the state for the 2020 class according to 247Sports. He holds scholarship offers from Ohio State, Michigan State, Kentucky and Oregon among others.

U-M has not offered a scholarship yet, but it's believed to be coming soon.
