A LUXURIOUS Forest Lake home sold at auction for $957,000 – the highest residential sale price for the suburb since 2010.
There were about 35 people at the auction of 53 Rudyard St on December 18 with two registered bidders.
Bidding began at $800,000.
Brisbane Real Estate marketing agent Saeed Moghaddam said the sale achieved the highest residential sale price for Forest Lake since 2010.
Mr Moghaddam said residential properties were classified as anything under one acre, or 4000sq m.
Corelogic data shows a 828sq m property at 82 Wivenhoe Circuit sold for $960,000 in August 2010, and a 654sq m property at 16 Seychelles Lane also sold for $960,000 in April that year.
“It’s a great result for the area,” Mr Moghaddam said.
“There were no vendor bids – the two bidders battled it out to the end.
“A young, local family with three small boys purchased the home and are planning to move in at the end of January.”
The five-bedroom, three-bathroom home on 3423sq m has multiple living areas including a games room, home office with built-in desks, powder room and kitchenette.
Features include a heated saltwater pool, granite benchtops, walk-in pantry, eight car accommodation, ducted vacuum system, Crimsafe screens and airconditioning.
Corelogic data shows the median house price for the suburb is $432,500, up 6.8 per cent in the last 12 months.
