MERRIMACK, NH — A Massachusetts woman has been arrested and charged with stealing from the Merrimack Premium Outlets. Shiara Noreen Lara, 21, of Lynn, Massachusetts, turned herself in to Merrimack police on Thursday. She has been charged with one Class A felony count of theft by unauthorized taking, and one count of Class A misdemeanor theft by unauthorized taking.

Police say that on March 21 they received a report from Kate Spade, located in the Premium Outlets, about a theft that had previously occurred the previous day. On March 20 around 6:37 p.m., two women entered Kate Spade and removed merchandise from the store without paying, the store employee reported to police. A second theft also occurred on March 21. Store staff were able to recognize the same two women and surveillance footage confirmed that the thefts had taken place, police say. Further investigation was able to identify the two women.

Police arrested Lara on a warrant on Thursday, April 18, after she turned herself in. She has been released on a personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear for arraignment on May 9 at Hillsborough County Superior Court - South. At this time, police have not announced the arrest of the second woman involved.
