Leoti man killed in rollover crash

A 21-year-old man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Wichita County in western Kansas, authorities said.

The fatality victim was identified as Gregory Ray Martinez II, of Leoti.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the crash was reported at 3:06 p.m. about 9 miles southwest of Leoti.

According to the patrol, Martinez was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier south in the 900 block of County Road 9 when the vehicle left the roadway to the right and entered the west ditch. The car rolled an undetermined number of times, during which Martinez was ejected.

The patrol said Martinez, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was taken to the Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, where he was pronounced dead.
