Libertyville Attorney Is New Lake County Associate Judge

Christopher M. Kennedy will fill the spot left open by Lake County Associate Judge Michael J. Fusz's retirement.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Lake County court officials announced Wednesday that Libertyville attorney Christopher Kennedy will serve as an associate judge in Lake County.

Circuit judges chose Kennedy to fill the spot on the bench vacated by the retirement of former Associate Judge Michael Fusz's retirement.

Kennedy, who serves as deputy general counsel for the Office of the Special Deputy Receiver, received a bachelor's degree in 1990 from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1990, and in 1994 received his law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.

Kennedy will take the oath of office Jan. 31, which will be administered by Chief Judge Diane E. Winter.

"Mr. Kennedy’s strong knowledge of the law, intellect, and professional demeanor will make him an excellent addition to the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit. We look forward to Chris joining us as an Associate Judge in the near future," said Chief Judge Winter.
