Al Ross dead: Famed New Yorker cartoonist passes away at 100

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

Legendary New Yorker cartoonist Al Ross, whose farcical one-panel drawings entertained readers for more than 60 years died Friday, The New York Times reported. He was 100.

Ross’ minimalist sketches usually featured talking animals, sexual politics or just odd asides between two people. In one sketch a vagrant sits on a park bench pointing to a piece of trash that a Parks Dept. worker missed.

He moved to New York after World War I.
