Big Macs for the Battleship: Grub out for a good cause!

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Battleship North Carolina is teaming up with McDonalds for their 5th Annual Big Macs for the Battleship Campaign.

$.50 from every Big Mac sandwich sold at participating restaurants will be donated to the restoration fund of the ship.

This year more than 40 restaurants will be participating and have set a goal of selling 10,000 sandwiches over Memorial Day Weekend. Big Macs for the Battleship will be launched on Friday, May 25, and run through Memorial Day Monday, May 28.

Denny Anderson, Owner/Operator of McDonald’s, states, “We are proud to continue to help support the Battleship in its endeavors to maintain the historical integrity of the ship. By partnering with the North Carolina, McDonald’s is helping restore the State’s Memorial that honors the Greatest Generation and all who have served.”

Captain Terry Bragg, Executive Director for the Battleship, “The Battleship North Carolina is overwhelmed by the support from Denny Anderson and his restaurants over the past several years. This continued partnership clearly demonstrates the support of our local business owners and citizens.”

Participating McDonald’s locations include Beulaville, Burgaw, Carolina Beach, Clinton, Elizabethtown, Fairmont, Hampstead,  Kenansville, Leland, Lumberton, Newton Grove, Pembroke, Rocky Point, Shallotte, Sneads Ferry, Southport, St. Pauls, Sunset Beach, Supply, Surf City, Wallace, Warsaw, Whiteville and Wilmington, in North Carolina and Darlington and Hartsville in South Carolina.
