Retired Lincoln-Way East Athletic Director Entering Hall-Of-Fame

Former Lincoln-Way East Athletic Director David Brost was selected to enter the Illinois Athletic Directors Association Hall of Fame.

FRANKFORT, IL - David Brost, who served as athletic director at both Lincoln-Way East and Reavis high schools, will be inducted into the Illinois Athletic Directors Association Hall of Fame in May. Brost, the Lincoln-Way East AD from 2001 until his retirement in 2012, was nominated for the hall-of-fame distinction by district rival Lincoln-Way Central Athletic Director Matthew Lyke, according to a news release from Lincoln-Way High School District 210.

Brost is a Reavis alum who was the athletic director of the Rams from 1993-1999. He came to District 210 in 1999 to serve in the same capacity at Lincoln-Way High School, and then became the Griffins' athletic director when the two D-210 campuses became separate schools two years later.

“Being inducted into the IADA Hall of Fame is mainly because of the people I worked with at Reavis and Lincoln-Way East,” he said. “Although I’m truly honored to receive this award, I know it’s definitely ‘not about Dave,’ but it was a team effort from the coaches, the secretaries, the maintenance people to administration and staff, the community members and, of course, the students.”

“Fall, winter and spring awards nights were my favorite of the year,” Brost said.
