MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI -- A head-on collision on Maple Island Road Monday afternoon pinned in two vehicle occupants and resulted in the launching of an AeroMed helicopter.
The crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. Nov. 19 near Holton in the 5700 block of North Maple Island Road just north of Michillinda Road. The crash involved a work truck and a Jeep.
The road was shut down in the area as several police and fire units responded to the scene. Two victims were said to be suffering from lower leg injuries and had to be extricated from separate vehicles by fire personnel.
An AeroMed emergency helicopter landed at the scene just after 1 p.m.
