BISMARCK, Mo. (AP) A man is dead and a woman hospitalized in rural eastern Missouri, and investigators are trying to determine if a drug overdose is to blame.

The Daily Journal newspaper in Park Hills, Missouri reports that Bismarck police responded to a call Thursday night about a possible overdose. Police Chief Kyle Colyott says the man died but the cause of death is not yet certain. The woman was taken to a hospital emergency room, but her condition was not immediately known.

Names have not been released. Authorities are awaiting toxicology reports before determining the man’s cause of death.
