London-based distributor Dogwoof Global Sales has picked up director Jesse Vile’s documentary Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet (pictured).

The film follows the rise of guitar prodigy Becker, who recorded with the likes of David Lee Roth until, at the height of his career, he was diagnosed with ALS (aka Lou Gehrig’s disease/motor neurone disease) and given five years to live. It has screened at Cinequest and will make the rounds at doc fests such as Hot Docs and Full Frame in the coming months.

Dogwoof Global’s Vesna Cudic and Ana Vicente will rep the film for TV, online, theatrical and DVD rights. The company specializes in films about extraordinary individuals, with titles such as Marina Abramovic: The Artist is Present; How Much Does your Building Weigh, Mr Foster?; and Bill Cunningham New York.
