Enterprise pick of the week: Microsoft Ignite 2018 sessions are live

At least 628 or so of them are. https://myignite.techcommunity.microsoft.com/sessions

A few observations: Lots of Dynamics 365 content! Lots of Windows-related sessions! Way more developer content than previously. Some sessions on Surface (LTE and Hub 2).  Several PWA sessions. And hints about the next version of SQL Server.

Codename pick of the week: Some next-gen Surface codenames

As Paul mentioned, new Surfaces are coming. Some this fall; some next year. We have heard codenames for some, but not all of these.  Surface Pro (6) is “Carmel.” Surface Studio 2 is “Capitola.” The updated Surface Laptop and Surface Pro 5, expected this yea—so far, we don’t know.

Beer pick of the week: Westbrook Cucumber Lemon Gose

It’s hot, hot, hot. Nothing like a gose, especially one with cucumber and lemon – to cool you down. Especially one that’s only 4%. Westbrook, based in Mount Pleasant, SC, makes a great one (that’s available in cans, too).

    <p>I have found the GO to be lappable. However, in my case I have really long legs so a big lap ;-). I've been able to use my Surface Pro in my lap as well.</p><p><br></p><p>I've left mine in 10S. However, I retired last year after 40 years in IT. If I was still working I would have switched it to 10 Pro, but at this point in my life the stuff I use on a daily basis is all available in the store, so until I come across a need of something that isn't in the store, I'll be leaving mine in 10S.</p><p><br></p><p>I had pre-ordered mine the week before. When I went to the Microsoft store to pick it up 4 other people were picking them up as well.</p>

    <p>With all respect to Mary Jo, I can never understand why she is given the platform she has regards analyzing MS and their products. Over the years we have found out that she only uses Notepad as her go to program and today, we find out that she doesn’t touch the screen. No wonder MS didn’t give her a demo Surface Go. After all, she has critized the Surface product line pretty consistently over the years. I would accept those criticisms but she barely uses the devices, i.e., doesn’t touch the screen, uses only Notepad, and probably doesn’t use the Pen. Why should MS take her seriously. I don’t.</p>
